I get up and start moving around 5:30 for no reason other than habit. I live alone, I'm away from my family and their lives, which is some of the damage of too long to get sober. There is a park near me that is a dumping ground for unwanted pets I found them about 3 yrs ago and go there to feed them each day rain or shine, and sit and listen to talk shows while rubbing bellies and scratching heads. I found some rescue people who connect me to others to find homes, we are at a rescue number of 57 as of today. If I had never accomplished anything else in my life I would feel it has been full just from my time with them.

Whether you graduated from Waltrip or not, what class year are you?

1972

What elementary school did you attend?

Oak Forest Elementary

RIP my friend. The best memory of Marcus also was a reflection of who he was in life when I knew him. We worked together at Walgreens at the mall and cleaned the store after closing. One night going hime we were in his old VW and driving down Mangum past Delmar and it was raining. Suprise Mangum was under construction and we suddenly found ourselves airborn flying off into where they had removed all the concrete int deep mud. I think Marcus downshifted before we hit ground again and we skidded, scooted, and rolled on ahead and back up onto the concrete again and just started laughing.

That was how Marcus was back then, nothing phased him, nothing stopped him, he just kept on going and would figure it all out later. He was a good person and a good friend.

I know it is early but I didn't want to forget, I hope you have a very happy birthday and a great year ahead. I still live down here so every now and then I drive through the old neighborhood and it is more and more difficult to recognize. The trees have gotten so big, the people who bought our old house have expanded the garage and painted all of the house brick and all white. It is amazing the difference it makes in looking like a different house. I hope all is well and you have many more years ahead. May God bless you and your family
